From 1984 to 1993, as head coach, I led the Liaoning team to triumph in numerous competitions, including the National Football First Division, the FA Cup, and the National Games. Most notably, during the 1989–1990 Asian Club Championship, we defeated Japan’s Nissan team, securing China’s first-ever title in an Asian club competition. This remarkable period not only epitomizes the golden age of Liaoning football but also embodies an indomitable spirit of never giving up and constantly striving for excellence. This spirit is deeply rooted in the unique qualities of the Tiexi old industrial base—resilience, dedication, and a pioneering drive.
